Nwafor Orizu College of Education never stops developing and generating teachers who are outstanding educators around the world. It’s no longer news that NOCEN graduates excel in a variety of fields. One of such individual is Esomnofu Chidiebube, a dedicated mathematics and further mathematics teacher who graduated from Nwafor Orizu College of Education’s mathematics department in 2014 and has won numerous awards.

Driven by his passion for mathematics, he uses his social media platforms, Esomnofu Online Math, to instruct pupils and learners with the main objective of eradicating math anxiety. Boasting a significant following of over 800,000 across numerous platforms, he currently has the distinction of being the most followed teacher in Africa.

Among his many achievements are the recognition he obtained in 2020 as the Maltina Award for Best Teacher in Anambra State and his inclusion on the list of the top ten instructors in Nigeria for the same year. He was given a certificate of honour by Chief Wilie Obiano, the former governor of Anambra State and by the former Commissioner of Education.

Esomnofu was further praised for his work in reducing math phobia through social media by the Great Leaders Forum and the National Association of Mathematical Science Students of Nigeria. He received recognition from the I AM NIGERIA INITIATIVE in 2021 for using social media to overcome his math anxiety.
