Dr. Osegbo, Ifeyinwa E. was born on 29th September, 1962. She had her primary education at former St John’s Primary School, Odoakpu Onitsha, from where she went to Girls’ High School, Umunya for her Secondary Education.
Between 1978 and 1981 she did her NCE programme at Anambra State College of Education, Awka and graduated in Ed. Biology/Mathematics.
By 1986, she obtained her Bachelor of Science Education Degree in Ed. Mathematics at University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Between 1988 and 1990 she took a Master’s degree course in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and her terminal Degree (Ph.D) was also obtained from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2005.
Ifeyinwa is a resourceful person. A teacher, an academic, administrator, a manager and a social worker. Her penchant for hard works is second to none. She has an amazing energy for work and high capacity for organization.
Her drive to impact knowledge and empower people both as a teacher and human resource manager started since she took off as a classroom teacher at Girls Secondary School Umudioka (1982-1984) where she taught as an NCE Mathematics teacher. She went back to UNN in 1985 where she bagged a degree in B.Sc (Ed) maths in 1986. She taught briefly in Ado Girls, St Charles Science School Onitsha and went back to UNN to do a one-year Masters Degree Programme in Measurement and Evaluation. On completion of the course, she was posted to Ado Girls Secondary School, Onitsha where she taught as a mathematics teacher until in 1996 when she was employed at NOCEN as a lecturer. By 1999, she registered for her Ph.D in UNN where she obtained her Ph.D in Measurement and Evaluation in 2005.
Dr. Ifeyinwa E. Osegbo belongs to at least six learned societies and five social and religious organisations including Nigerian Society for Educational Psychologists (NISEP), Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), and Catholic Women Organisation (CWO).
Dr. Ifeyinwa E. Osegbo has travelled and attended conferences and presented papers in different capacities at home and abroad. She attended and presented papers at International Congress of Psychologist, 22nd – 27th July, 2012, Cape Town, South Africa, 30th Congress of Psychologists in Cape Town, South Africa and Academic Conference of International Journal of Arts and social Sciences (IJAS). Boston, USA May, 26th – 30th, 2014. She has over forty five academic publications in the form of books, book chapters and several learned journal articles as well as having participated in workshops, exhibitions and editorships. She has also many papers presented at conferences.
One can mention here that she is a Director of UCB Microfinance Bank Ltd, Umunya since 2012 to date (Community service).
She was appointed the Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe on March 14, 2018, the post she holds to date.
