NOCEN PROVOST LEADS THE COLLEGE COMMUNITY IN PHYSICAL EXERCISE
It was fun earlier today as the Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN) Dr Justina C. Anyadiegwu led the college community on physical exercise which took place at the College’s Sports Arena. In awe, the staff and students of the College watched as the Provost, who showed sporting character and vigour pulled some athletic surprises. It was a thing of novelty to have the Provost of the College as an active participant in a full-scale physical exercise session.
Workout and other physical exercises featured in today’s outing. Speaking after the exercise, the Provost stated that the initiative is part of her resolve to see the staff and students of the College improve themselves. She emphasised the importance of physical exercise to enhancing both cognitive and psychomotor domains. She argued that the popular saying “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” is true and therefore urged the staff and students to insist on exercising their body as it improves the functionality of their organs. She assured them that exercising themselves regularly will also improve their muscles and boost their endurance.
According to her, exercise helps the tissues and cardiovascular system work more efficiently which in turn enables one to handle daily chores and other responsibilities requiring physical strength.
Notably in attendance were the Dean, Students’ Affairs Dr Law Egbomuche , the Director, General Studies Dr Okeke Josephine, and the SUG President Comr. Anusi Kingsley. Other staff members and students also attended.
Both the staff and students had fun. They thanked the Provost for the initiative.
