NOCEN and ICT: an Unending Marriage
As Information and Communications Technology (ICT) continues to prove its deployability to solving problems, looking tech-ward should be one of the key points to judging a progressive institution.
Since the world seeded its problems in the soils of technological innovations, tremendous fruits have been born. This is why forward-thinking institutions like Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe have joined the train.
Without mincing words, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) provides as much benefits as: Improved communication, enhanced efficiency, access to information, collaboration, data management, cost savings, etc to institutions.
These benefits were once again utilized yesterday at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN) when the year one students of the institution sat for their first semester exams, 2023/2024 academic session in the five hundred (500) sitting capacity ICT hall. This may not be the first time the College is holding a Computer Based Examination (CBE), but the constant training and retraining of staff and the maintenance of the ICT Department which has improved the CBE tick the boxes for the innovation.
Streaming digitalization into the academic affairs as well as the administrative procedures at NOCEN, as one of the ways of promoting efficiency, remains one of the key resolves of the Dr Anyadiegwu led administration.
Since the introduction of Computer Based Examination (CBE), the College has witnessed the fast track of both conducting examinations and releasing of results. This positive development matches the already articulated success plans of the present administration and the new provost, Dr Justina Anyadiegwu has made it clear that she is not relenting in her pursuit of a completely digitalized Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.
